About Queen Tee's Premium Black Cohosh Root
Black cohosh (Actaea racemosa, also known as Cimicifuga racemosa) is a woodland plant native to eastern North America. Its roots and rhizomes have a long history in traditional herbal practices. Our cut-and-sifted root has an earthy aroma and a distinctly bitter, acrid flavor. This botanical should be used with guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.

Traditionally Enjoyed For
Black cohosh has historically been used in Native American and European herbal practices, including preparations associated with menstrual and menopausal concerns. These historical uses do not establish effectiveness or safety.
Most modern research concerns specific black cohosh extracts for menopause symptoms. Some evidence suggests potential benefit, but findings cannot be assumed to apply to loose root tea. This product is not a substitute for medical evaluation or prescribed treatment.

Preparation Guidance
Use only as directed by a qualified healthcare professional. Ask for preparation, serving amount, frequency and duration appropriate to this specific cut-and-sifted product and your health history. Extract doses are not interchangeable with teaspoons of dried root.
Roots are traditionally prepared by decoction, but a general tea recipe does not establish a suitable dose. Do not use the brewing directions for another herb as instructions for black cohosh.
Warnings
Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless specifically directed by your treating clinician.

Seek medical guidance if you have a hormone-sensitive condition, including a history of breast or uterine cancer.
Check with your clinician or pharmacist if you take medication.

Rare cases of liver injury, some serious, have been reported with products labeled black cohosh; whether black cohosh caused these cases remains uncertain. Stop use and seek medical advice for dark urine, yellowing skin or eyes, unusual fatigue, or abdominal pain. Other reported effects include stomach upset, cramping, headache, rash and vaginal spotting or bleeding.
Black cohosh and blue cohosh are different botanicals and must not be substituted for one another. Keep out of reach of children.
