PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Japanese matcha is a finely milled green tea made from tea leaves that are traditionally shade-grown before harvest. Unlike a typical steeped tea, matcha is whisked into water and the powdered leaf is consumed. It has a vibrant green color, smooth vegetal character, gentle bitterness and savory umami notes. Matcha naturally provides tea polyphenols, including catechins, and naturally occurring caffeine.

FLAVOR & APPEARANCE
Appearance: Fine, vivid green powder. Flavor: Vegetal, grassy, lightly bitter and umami-rich. Higher-quality matcha is generally smoother and less harsh.
STORAGE
Keep tightly sealed and protect from heat, humidity, strong odors and direct light. For best color and freshness, store in a cool, dark place; refrigeration in an airtight container can help preserve quality. Allow a refrigerated container to come toward room temperature before opening to reduce condensation.
CAFFEINE & SAFETY
Matcha naturally contains caffeine, and the amount can vary substantially. People who are caffeine-sensitive should start with a smaller serving and avoid use close to bedtime. Pregnant or nursing individuals, children, and anyone taking medication or managing a medical condition should discuss regular or concentrated matcha use with a qualified healthcare professional. This product is a food/tea product and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.
LABELING NOTE: Use “Organic” and any specific Japanese region/grade claims only when supported by supplier documentation or certification. Do not state a specific caffeine, EGCG or catechin amount unless the finished product has been tested or the supplier provides reliable batch data.
RESEARCH NOTES
Matcha research confirms that Japanese matcha is powdered Camellia sinensis and contains catechins and caffeine, but measured levels vary among products. Research also indicates that heat, humidity and light can reduce matcha color and catechin stability during storage.
