How to help ease mouth sores | Queen Tee's Herbal Teas and Tinctures

If you had chemotherapy treatment for your cancer, chemotherapy can cause dry mouth or sores. This can lead to an increase in bacteria in your mouth. The bacteria can cause infection in your mouth, which can spread to other parts of your body.  After chemotherapy, you'll need to take good care of yourself, this includes practicing good mouth care, preventing infections, and other measures.

First, you need to tell your healthcare provider if you develop mouth sores or have pain in your month. The one of the most important thing is to brush your teeth and gums 2 to 3 times a day with a soft toothbrush. Stay away from alcohol or any mouth rinse that have more than 2% or 3%. It can cause bigger issues.

Baking Soda and Salt Water Mix

Mix 1/8 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 8 ounces of luke warm water.

Mix together and Rinse.

Discard leftover after use.

Cloves and Aloe juice Mix

Put 1/2 tablespoon of cloves in a cup.

Bring 1 cup of water to boil.

Pour over cloves, let steep until cool.

Strain, pour 1/2 cup of clove water into another cup.

Add 1/2 cup of aloe juice to clove water, mix and rinse. (Mixture can be refrigerator for a few days)

Clove tincture can be used in place of clove water. But be aware that some clove tincture may contain high percentage of alcohol. So, be mindful of how much tincture to use when mixing.
